With law enforcement utilizing surveillance cameras to track the kidnapper, and the victim, they were able to stream the images from Maryland to Philadelphia. They also found that the used car being driven by the kidnapper had a GPS installed by the car dealership. They were able to activate the GPS unit and locate the kidnapper and the victim.
Philadelphia kidnapping victim’s spirit ‘probably kept her alive,’ police say
A Philadelphia woman’s fighting spirit helped save her life, the city’s top cop said Thursday.
Charles Ramsey told ABC’s “Good Morning America” that Carlesha Freeland-Gaither kept struggling with her captor despite being bound. The 22-year-old nursing assistant’s resistance, “probably helped keep her alive,” he said.
